Stephanie worked for ITT Rayonier after being widowed, but began school at Shoreline Community College in the early 1990s. In 1994 she graduated with honors from the nursing program and worked at Crista in Seattle, then assorted volunteer jobs while homeschooling her children. In 2000, she and her husband joined Wycliffe Bible Translators and for the next 7 years she used her nursing skills in Papua New Guinea where she became the head nurse at the Ukarumpa clinic, and eventually clinic manager. Stephanie always impressed me with her smile, determination to not give up and her love for community. You were undoubtedly a blessing in my life. Hearing her laugh and singing in her office always gave me the biggest smile. Her greatest joy were her children and grandchildren.
She also loved to dance, and all that knew her know that she is now dancing for Jesus.
